What a weekend had by all at this year’s Jr. Rodeo. One of our best ever. Nearly 200 young rodeo hopefuls ranging from age 2-years-old to 18 took to 52 various competitions in nine different age categories over the two-day event. And every one of them gave it their all.
Contestants came from every corner of the state as well as British Columbia and Idaho. Many contestants competed in past years at the Chelan Jr. Rodeo. But there were others who could truly claim Chelan was their “first rodeo.”
From dummy roping, goat flanking, bull riding, pole bending, barrel racing, calf roping, chute dogging, steer wrestling and many other rodeo challenges, these dedicated competitors did not disappoint. You can see the highlights of the event at our photo gallery below. KUDOS TO EVERY SINGLE COMPETITOR! GREAT JOB!
Chelan Jr. Rodeo is a part of the Chelan Rustlers Saddle Club that hosts and sponsors this rodeo each year. We are sanctioned by both the Eastern Washington and Caribou Trails Junior Rodeo Associations who provided the judges for this year’s event. Those competitors who scored highest earn points to qualify for year-end awards and the opportunity compete in the state championships.
Donations made to the Chelan Jr. Rodeo goes directly to help with participant prizes, awards and other incidental expenses related to Jr. Rodeo.
